Surprising uses for Yoghurt!

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Yoghurt isn’t just a breakfast food!

The creamy high in rich protein is one of the most versatile dairy products in your fridge. From facial masks to blending together a creamy cocktail yoghurt has got you covered.

Hair mask

Natural Yoghurt is full of protein, it offers nourishment that our hair needs to grow strong and healthy. Yoghurt has lactic acids, which is great for cleansing the scalp and clearing away dead skin cells to help your hair follicles grow.

Relieve sunburn

Yoghurt is a great source of zinc, which helps soothe the burning and itchiness of sunburn. To relieve the symptoms, apply a thick layer of plain, cool yoghurt directly to your burn and rinse off with cold water after 20 minutes.

Blend it in a creamy cocktail

It’s very common to blend yoghurt into a smoothie, why not add it to a cocktail for a creamy texture.

Facial mask

Yoghurt is one of the best face masks for your skin because it is very mild. Yoghurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid. This is milder than other exfoliants but rejuvenates skin by tightening pores, cleanse skin and even skin tone. Check out our DIY Face mask blog post if you are eager to try it out.

Whiten your teeth

Whitening your teeth through yoghurt is believed to work because of the phosphorus and calcium it contains. Just rub yoghurt onto your teeth daily for a couple of weeks for sparkly white teeth.

A natural body scrub

Yoghurt can be used as a scrub for your hands, feet or the whole body. Simply mix with oats or dried citrus peel. Massage the blend into your skin gently in a circular motion and rinse off with lukewarm water. Your skin should feel smooth and hydrated.
